HumanR was founded in 2007 on a simple observation: the Netherlands was greying and automating at the same time, and the skilled professionals it needed, particularly in ICT, were not going to come from the Dutch labour market alone. India, meanwhile, was producing them in abundance. Someone had to build the bridge.
For founder and managing director Lavesh Lakhina, that bridge was personal before it was commercial. Born in the Netherlands with roots in India, from a family that has traded between the two countries for decades, he grew up between the cultures HumanR now connects. Degrees in economics, management and international marketing, from universities in the Netherlands and the United States, supplied the toolkit; the background supplied the conviction. In 2009 he also founded the Indian Expat Society, a non-profit platform for the Indian expatriate community in the Netherlands.
HumanR began with the recruitment and placement of Indian ICT professionals. Nineteen years of casework narrowed the focus to where the real difficulty lives: the employment itself. The permits, the payroll, the 30% ruling, the compliance that decides whether an international hire succeeds. Today HumanR is a pure Employer of Record for highly skilled migrants from any country, across technology, finance, healthcare and engineering. The bridge that began between two countries now spans them all.
One conviction survives unchanged from the original mission: the fees in this sector were unreasonably high, and they did not need to be. That is why HumanR has always worked with one fixed, transparent monthly fee. It was the founding promise, and it still is.
